I did some Internet searching to try to help answer your question.
After reading this: , I am strongly reminded of the early Christian Gnostic gospels banned by the Church, now known as the Nag Hammadi Library, after the scrolls were rediscovered there in the 1940’s after missing for almost 2,000 years.
