Hey, I’m fifteen, and I’ve been trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up since I was… oh five maybe. I’ve gone from Ice skater to dancer to musical theater performer and now I have this. I’m sure it’s what I want to do with the rest of life. I want to be a Naturopathic adolescent and child psychologist dealing in behavioral health and learning disorders. I don’t know yet if I’ll ad on art and music therapy. I will be focusing on trying to heal with alternative medicines, instead of referring to psychiatrists and chemicals and unnatural medicines with strange side-effects. I’ll be doing things like rei-ki (sp?) and acupuncture, and lott of other eastern healing techniques along with standard talk and play therapy with families and just teens and children.

My problem is, in the place that I live, if I open up this practice I’ll be drowned in holy water and considered a witch or voodoo person. There is absolutely no acceptance of that kind of healing around here. (small town hicks) I want to know if you think it would work. Where would it work? I know it might work in the big cities, but I’d like to stay closer to my home in mid america, but any thing goes right now I’m only a sophomore!

I have a cut/scrape on my cheek from a few days ago. I’ve been rinsing it with hydrogen peroxide and applying neosporin multiple times during the day, but it is is still red, infected and painful. I also have a big trip to take next week. Are there any techniques I can do to heal this cut quickly? I don’t want a big ugly scab on my face for my trip.

My daughter is only 8 but she already sees the dead. She already knows about the other side and has dreams of past lives. my father sexually abused me and my little sister, and i truly believe my two brothers. the abuse for my sister and me happened several years ago, about 20 years for me, and more than 6 for my sister. for our state, the statute of limitations has passed and both my sister and me (she is 18 and in AA and NA) are unable to to take prescription drugs…my sister cannot take them because of her alcoholism and drug addiction, and i cannot because i have had addiction problems with prescription meds w/ a mood altering effect. my question is, what are some non narcotic methods for healing from this type of childhood? some anger-management techniques?
my sister has had a very rough life, and has been very self-destructive, and still struggles w/ her “demons,” i have veered in the opposite direction, before my husband, i NEVER dated or even kissed a boy. i am now in a successful marriage and have a beautiful son.
i would like to be able to help my sister deal w/ our past and
help prevent any future problems i might have as the memories continue to come out. my mom was similarly abused and when she was my age, she began to remember, which resulted in 3 failed marriages, abandoning her children, and a very destructive life. i have dealt with this fairly well since i finally admitted this to myself, but i fear that i won’t be able to handle any worse memories.

lol, sorry for the long question, just any opinions please thanks :) as far as forgiving my dad, i suppose you could say that i have. mostly because i know that he cannot touch me and i haven’t seen him since before my son was born. i don’t wish harm on him, mostly i guess i just don’t care about him anymore. i don’t want an apology from him, and i realize no one can ever make sense of what he did, but i need to deal w/ my anger towards the abuse. also, i have trouble w/ intimate situations, and it would be great it that could be resolved.
